     Training

BCA offers several different courses designed to provide the basic information of television production.  Below you will find a listing for our current listing of our courses and when available we post the the dates and times.  Be Sure to check back often as we will be adding additional training classes and dates as soon as they become available.  Only Brockton Residents are eligible for training.

The Steps of Training and Production

  1. Attend Orientation:  Orientation is a is a FREE class that is open to the public and it is a requirement of all producers to attend regardless if your program is produced through BCA or external to our facility.  This course is the "ins & outs" - the basic policy and procedures of BCA , it's where you learn what BCA and cable access are all about.

  2. Training and Certification:  To utilize BCA equipment for your production you need to take our training courses and pass our certification test or "test out" of training through arrangement with BCA .  To "test out" of training you must contact BCA for special arrangements.  Currently BCA has a $20 per training course fee for materials.

  3. TV Program Application:  You must fill out a Television Program Application and submit your form to the BCA General Manager for review.  All applications are reviewed by the General Manager for inclusion into our programming and no exceptions can be made.  Once your application is submitted you may make reservations with BCA for production.

  4. Production:  At this point you may make reservations for studio, editing, and portable equipment needs for your production.  Once your Television Program Application is approved you may speak to a BCA Production Coordinator to arrange for your production.
