“Sometimes, parents get caught up in their children, when they’re going through burden. That burden doesn’t have to have a toxic reaction to their children. That burden can teach them about surviving. That’s what my daughter and I both learned. There were things that I might have done differently.” However, Lois did the best that she could under the circumstances. “I also learned that I do the best I can every day, without competition, without concern about people’s opinions of who I am and what I am. This is important - If I was concerned about how people saw me, and what people thought and think I should have done, I would not be here today.” “In my classes, I don’t tell people what to do. In my classes, I give people the opportunity to learn how their minds work. I might come up to you and ask, ‘How are you feeling?’ I don’t ask, ‘Hey, How’s your brain today?’ We need to learn how the brain works. It’s an organ in your body. That’s why people take my classes and watch my television show. How does this work? Let’s demystify how the brain works. There’s a lot of uneducated information about the mind and how it works. We need to learn about healthy minds – we’re talking about diets, and bodies – positive thinking is using part of your brain that creates a chemical reaction in your body. It’s all about energy. It’s all about chemistries. If people could get out of their heads and that neurotic and that anxiety thinking and listened to the gut, people would be in better places.” Lois finds guests from her show in some very common places. Some people find her. She networks. She speaks to people in a lot of different places – at work, at the Spiritualist Church in Canton, and she receives referrals. She talks to people across the country with her readings. She meets interesting people at certain junction in her life. She always tries to meet people with interesting stories. Everyone has a story, that’s important. I’m interested in good stories and the journeys that people take. Why did you take this? What was the turning point in your life that you chose to do something? Everyone needs to be “out of the box”. When you’re “out of the box”, you can learn how to fly (nothing will hold you back). “Out of the box” means listening to your gut. I learned that by being ‘out of the box’ - that I can fly. I’m never worried about flying, because my safety nets, are God and the angels that work with him.” Lois is still teaching at Massasoit and at Brockton High School. Lois’ new project is being on WBET every Monday at noon until 2pm. The program is called “Body, Mind and Spirit”. It’s a two hour call in talk show with guests. Sometimes there are guests with certain topics or sometimes she just conducts readings. Lois lives every moment in the moment - going with the flow. The experiences happen for the simple reason that she’s always connected to energy. If she has an experience while working, she goes with it. If she is somewhere, gets a thought or a feeling that’s not positive or that makes her feel uncomfortable, she won’t stay or won’t go there. If she’s in the moment and comfortable with whom she’s with, she’ll have conversations. At times, she’ll be in her car and have a thought like – go visit someone or go to that store. She meets interesting people by listening to her gut. She runs into things that she may be looking for and finds it. She pays attention. Lois takes the opportunity on a daily basis to meditate, be quiet, listen, reenergize, clear the mind, and heal herself. She does all these things in order to prevent getting overloaded and running into a wall. Lois would like those who have never seen her show to take a moment and do something “out of the box” by watching the show. She would like them to pay attention to how it makes them feel and how it changes their thinking or point of view. Sit and watch with an open mind. Watch it and feel it for yourself. Sometimes it takes more than watching just once. People may also e-mail Lois at her website, and ask questions. She’ll be more than happy to respond. Write to Lois at: www.loisberman.com. Lois has many favorite memories associated with her show, “The Psychic Mind”. In her own words: “People will come up to me and say, ‘“I love your show. I feel so comforted by you and your voice and your message. I feel like my spirits have been lifted.”’ One woman came to me in Shaw’s Market and said her mother had passed away and was very depressed. She watched my show and it changed her life. A couple came into Chili’s, where I work and the woman said, ‘Oh, you’re the lady on the television.’ I said something to her in passing about her job or something that was going on in her life. A month later, I met her husband, who was putting up a display in Shaw’s Market. I don’t know if he worked for Shaw’s or for the coffee company. He said to me, “Hi, how are you?” At first, I wasn’t sure who he was and asked him to refresh my memory. He said, ‘We came into Chili’s, you told my wife something. I told you I was very concerned about my wife’s health because her job was so stressful. You gave her some information and she acted on it. You have no idea how incredible your message was, how it’s changed our lives and we are so grateful to have met you.’ This made me cry.” “By using “it”, “it” changed my life. I did the work, went the distance and took the journey. I didn’t take no for an answer. I trusted my feelings. I knew I’d be in the right place at the right time. I stayed in the moment. I didn’t give up. I didn’t want to accept a life being on a respirator or not being able to dance. I didn’t want to spend a life without dancing” “I’m very grateful for the opportunity to do this programming. Not only do I get people talking to me as I’m walking in the park or in the supermarket, but this cable program is a signpost for me. Doing the show is a learning experience and it’s a way of keeping my spirits up. It’s an act of show of faith.”
