Internships

BCA internships are hands-on learning experiences.  Our internships are designed to allow interns to experience by doing, not just observing.  Interns will gain experience in the operations of a busy Community Access Facility by witnessing and interacting with the administration and business aspects of the facility to understand how BCA, and similar access facilities, provides service to the community.

In addition, part of the internship is to educate in our industry field of Community Access Television (see Alliance for Community Media, Alliance for Community Media - Northeast Region, MassAccess, National Community Access Links, and Global Community Access Links)

Who is eligible?  We are happy to work with both High School and College level intern programs.

What are the hours?  Unfortunately we cannot give a definite answer until we talk with you and your educational institution.  We work with you and your school to determine what will work best for all participants.  We prefer a minimum of nine (9) hours per week and range to a maximum of eighteen (18) hours per week.

Why should I intern with BCA?  We are eager to give interns actual hands on, interactive experiences to learn the technical and experiment with the creative.  We have two fully functioning multi-camera studios, multiple ENG style camera kits, and our BCA remote production truck able to utilize up to five cameras in a production.

What's my goal while at BCA?  Although it varies per intern and per internship program, the intent is for the student to have experiences in several productions in varying scales from the idea stage to completion of a production.  In addition, and internship program permitting, the student will have an internship long assignment to take their own idea through to reality and have a finished product the student can use as resume material.

How do I find out more?  You can call us at (508) 580 - 2228 or you can email us at info@bcatv.org and find out more information.

Internship Programs

Below are an example of three of the "pre-packaged" internship programs we offer.  These are

guides and examples; however, we do customize our programs often to compliment the requirements of an educational institutions credit based program or intern requests.

Our best advice is, "When in doubt, contact us".
