| BCCT has been a major part of our
community for more than 20 years by providing
access to our residents via cable television. We
help them to publicize community events through our
community bulletin board, by having people as guests on
existing shows, or even "cover" the event itself. We are
always there for the entire community. We provide
an essential public service that is second to none. We
highlight and showcase Brockton better than any Boston
television station and accentuate the positive on a
daily basis. We do this with a small, dedicated staff
and the help of our community volunteers and
producers. |
|
In providing gavel-to-gavel coverage of
the Brockton City Council, Finance Committee and School
Committee the citizens of Brockton know what their
elected and appointed officials do. Many City events are
showcased and the many communities within our community
that our citizens are part of are featured on our City
Channel 12. Brockton has many champions.
Athletes, musicians, students or your next door neighbor
are regular guests on the air. BCA is always there to
showcase what they are doing. We paint a picture of our
own champions every day. We have been there for the
hundreds of community events, games, and activities that
take place in Brockton each year. We highlight people as
part of their own culture, in their native tongue and
within the many groups that paint a tapestry of
Brockton. Diversity is our main ingredient, one which
makes Brockton a special place to
live. |
| Volunteers are
special people. Our board members, producers, guests or
technical crew are the people that work on public,
educational and government access programming.
Volunteers work in partnership with our staff and
willingly give of their own time to be a part of our
community. We applaud their dedication, perseverance and
willingness to always lend a helping hand. Our dedicated
staff is ever present to provide support, encouragement
and a lifetime of knowledge. These are our
champions! |
| With each
passing year we look forward to the next horizon
and have high hopes, much pride and see many new
paths we can embark upon. Challenges include
digital technology, possible cable competition,
partnerships, and the limited availability of
people's time in this busy day and age. We can
create new opportunities by working with other
civic-minded non-profits and community based
organizations to work together for the good of our
community. We enlighten, entertain and inform by
being a part of our community and the conduit
which our community can utilize to freely express
themselves. We look forward to continue seeing
people come together through our community media
center and pledge ourselves to work to see it be
even more of a reality. |
