Project Guardian Angels at West Junior High

The City of Brockton  is known as the City of Champions.  One of the individuals living up to this moniker Officer Rosie Browne of the Brockton Police Department.  As you may know Officer created Project Guardian Angels for the City of Brockton to assist those in need – especially during the holiday season.  Officer Browne is widening her efforts through leaps and bounds to create a year round volunteering program for students initiating the project  at West Junior High.

Stakeholders Summit Highlights

 

For the past several years the Mayors of Brockton have held a “Youth Summit” as an open forum for the youth of the community to talk about topics that are important to their generation.  The Current Administration has taken it a step farther where they bring together community leaders in the 2nd Annual Stakeholders Summit.

 

A Look Into Brockton's Promise Part 5: "Caring Adults"

 

In 2006 Brockton was named “One of the Best 100 Communities for Youth in the Nation” and this was largely in part to the efforts of the non-profit group Brockton’s Promise Every Child a Champion, a Champion for Every Child – that’s the mission of Brockton’s Promise a non-profit organization that brings together for-profit, not-for-profit, community groups, and individuals to help bring "Five Promises" to every child.  On this episode of 1NM we present you part two where we focus on the “Caring Adults Team”.

TV You Can Be Part Of

Every time you tune in to watch One North Main you are watching BCA - Brockton Community Access – specifically our Public Access Channel 9.  But BCA is much more than just Public Access we also manage BCA Channel 12 the Government Access Channel and BCA Channel 98 the Educational Access Channel.  While it is true that we do have staff produced programs such as One North Main the true purpose of all community access centers is to train you the members of the community to produce TV programs on whatever subject YOU want.  Sports talk shows, sketch comedy, talk shows centered on the needs of youth in our community or essentially any subject matter you want.  Watch this next segment to learn more about BCA and how you can get involved in TV production.
