Greek Heritage Celebration If you’re a frequent viewer of One North Main you are familiar with the segments we produce on the many cultural events happening in out city, for example last episode we brought you highlights of Irish Heritage Day.  Well this time it was a recognition marking the 186th Anniversary of Greek Independence, where clergy, politicians, and Brocktonians came together to celebrate just one more culture that helps make the City of Brockton the City of Champions

With Spring here the thoughts of Baseball fill the minds of many Americans, but here in Brockton our baseball thoughts focus on the Brockton Rox now entering their sixth year.  Along the way we have see dozens of bobble heads, an attempt to have the quietest baseball game ever,  a rain soaked opening night, a Kangaroo arriving by helicopter and the list goes on.  Well the Rox are at it again, except this time it’s bringing a familiar face to the City of Brockton into the front office of the Rox.

 

A Look Into Brockton's Promise Part 4: "Safe Places"

 

In 2006 Brockton was named “One of the Best 100 Communities for Youth in the Nation” and this was largely in part to the efforts of the non-profit group Brockton’s Promise Every Child a Champion, a Champion for Every Child – that’s the mission of Brockton’s Promise a non-profit organization that brings together for-profit, not-for-profit, community groups, and individuals to help bring "Five Promises" to every child.  On this episode of 1NM we present you part two where we focus on the “Safe Places Team”.

 

4th Annual

BPS Faculty Art Show

Spring means its time for the Fourth Annual Brockton Public Schools Faculty Art Show.  Once again the display is housed at the Brockton Public Library and this year it has over a dozen different artists with displays from sculpture to paintings, photography to computer generated images … and it’s all from the artist-teachers of Brockton.
