Mayor's Celebrity
Softball Game |
On One
North Main you often see
Mayor James Harrington appear in our segments.
For example, many of you may remember the Mayor
peddling around on a low ride bicycle or just last
week the Mayor appeared on our segment “Cribs”.
Well this week the Mayor is at it again, this time
athletically as he continues the tradition started
by the previous mayor – a charity softball game.
Here now on One North Main a look at that recent
night.

Marvelous Margin Hagler
Benefit Appearance in Brockton |
Brockton is “The City of Champions” and the
nickname is all encompassing and just doesn’t
reflect one aspect of our city. But recently one
of our national, perhaps international, champions
came back to Brockton for a fundraiser. Marvelous
Marvin Hagler came back to the City for a
fundraiser with his name to benefit Massasoit
Community College and the Save Our Sports program
of Brockton. BCA was there to record the boxing
and several interviews and here now on one north
main we let Mr. Marvelous Marvin Hagler share is
thoughts on the night.

Brockton Neighborhood
Health Center Groundbreaking |
It all
started back in 1992 as a concept to benefit the
citizens of the city and finally the
Brockton
Neighborhood Health Center began providing
services in 1994. Well a lot has changes since
then, the center expanded rapidly and has grown
into a multi-site clinic; however, its mission of
providing desperately needed health and dental
services to low-income and marginalized
populations in Brockton and surrounding
communities has never changed. And now the center
will have a new home in downtown Brockton and One
North Main was on hand at the ground breaking.

Night Out Against Crime 2006
|
For
almost a decade the police, the DA’s office, the
Mayor’s office, fire department and concerned
citizens have dedicated a night in Brockton to
provide diverse resources to educate and protect
our cities most important export, our children.
As organizers will tell you its not that one night
out against crime will solve every problem, but
the night is meant to remind and reinforce to be
the stepping stone to bring one night into two,
two into a week, and a week into forever to
provide a safe, nurturing environment for the
children in the City of Champions and beyond. |
