Mayor's Stakeholders Summit

This time of year for the past decade the mayor's of Brockton have held a youth summit aimed at providing the youth of the community and open forum to talk about the issues important to their generation.  Well the current administration at City Hall headed by Mayor James Harrington has gone a step further and recruited city, state, private, for profit, non-profit and other organizations for the same purpose and BCA had a chance to meet some of those in attendance.

 

Brockton High School

receives the

National School Change Award

The city of Brockton is offered referred to as the City of Champions because of its success in the sporting worlds; however, there are other champions in this city winning awards.  Recently Brockton High School was awarded the "National School Change Award" for its efforts in education the youth of our city and exemplifying the true meaning of a "City of Champions".  Here are 1NM we present highlights of the event.

 

Todd English visits

Brockton High School

There was a culinary arts competition recently held at Brockton High School where the four teams of students from the award winning program squared off for a competition in honor of restaurateur and entreasure Todd English visiting.  While there Mr. English shared insight to his path into the culinary world as well as sharing his thoughts on the importance of culinary arts program at the high school level.

 

Memorial Day Road Race

When it comes to kids road races in Brockton everyone's first thought is Dave Gorman.  Well with Dave and a collaboration of efforts from individuals and the city alike once again the city was the site of what has become the annual Memorial Day Road Race.
