The BCA

Veterans History Project

Brockton Community Access (BCA) is the cable access station for the City of Brockton and is a non-profit organization independent of the City, but one of our missions is to provide government related programming which we do through our BCA Channel 12.  The Veterans History Project is one of the programs that is on BCA Channel 12 and we produce the show in cooperation with the Brockton Council on Aging.  We interview Anne McCormack from the COA and our volunteer host Bob McCormack to tell you the viewer how the idea went from just a thought to a TV reality.

Baseball Field Dedication

Most often when people think of the moniker “the City of Champions” they think of Marciano or Hagler.  Maybe they think of the High School Football sports teams, but it really is referring to the spirit in the city the spirit of Champions.  And recently there was a grass roots effort to honor of these Champions and years of service to the city.

Perkins Park

Civil War Statue Rededication

Almost 100 years ago the Fletcher Women’s Relief Corps presented a statue of a Civil War era solider in memory of those who served in the Federal Army & Navy.  About 50 years ago a tree branch fell damaging the statue, breaking off a hand, part of the rifle, and part of the cap.  And sadly the statue remained this way until Fred Lincoln, the Metro South Chamber of Commerce, & many others who donate time, sill, effort, and funding all came together to restore not only the statue, but its legacy and meaning to the individuals and families of those who serve their country in time of war.
