Baseball In Brockton

Opening Day

The Brockton Rox step up to the plate in their fourth season in our continuing series "Baseball in Brockton".  In this segment we focus on the opening day festivities and what the citizens of Brockton and the surrounding communities have to say about the Champion Rox.

Veteran's History Project

Joseph White

BCA has joined forces with Brockton residents in participating with the Library of Congress' Veteran's History Project.  In our inaugural half-hour program we interview Joseph White, a shipyard laborer, who installed, repaired, and otherwise worked on equipment for such lauded vessels as the Queen Mary (luxury ocean liner, wartime troop transport, and now floating hotel and museum) and the Battleship USS Massachusetts (located in Fall River's Battleship Cove as a museum piece).  This is a highlight of his interview.

Brockton Neighborhood

Health Center:

United Voices

The Brockton Neighborhood Health Center has long been known as a resource of high quality comprehensive health care that is responsive to community health needs while being linguistically, culturally and financially accessible.  What may not be known is their United Voices program which is aimed at teens and focused on the awareness, prevention, and assistance for the health needs of teenagers.  1NM takes time to talk with Tim Comeaux and Ameila Montrond, representatives of the BNHC, and United Voices program participants Patrice Molin and Lilliam Rivera as they discuss the center, the United Voices program, and a half-hour play they produced with BCA.

Veteran's History Project

James Garrison

BCA has joined forces with Brockton residents in participating with the Library of Congress' Veteran's History Project.  In our second installment of the half-hour program we interview James Garrison, a thirty-year navy veteran, who served on two destroyers, surviving the sinking of both vessels the USS DeHaven (see also) and the USS Meredith (see also).  This is a highlight of his interview.
