The city of Brockton is known as the "City of Champions" so 1NM takes time to recognize yet another group of champions in our city, the athletes of the Special Olympics.

Spring is here and Summer around the corner which means for their forth season the Brockton Rox take to the field to the delight of the residents of Brockton and beyond.  We catch up with the players and coaches at the media day to see what they think, know, and have heard about the fans of Brockton and why they want to play baseball in the the City of Champions.

20th Annual Art Show

Twenty years ago few people would have thought that an idea to decorate the bank office inside Brockton High School with a few pieces of art would have led to the filling of lobbies and hallways with over 400 pieces of art .  Now celebrating its 20th year the BHS Art Show sponsored by HarborONE recognizes almost a dozen mediums and has not only ribbon prizes but scholarships offered through the sponsor.  We talk to Fred Lawrence of BPS and Leo McNeil of HarborONE on what makes this art show a perennial favorite.

 

Baseball in Brockton -

Brockton High School

The second part in our series of "Baseball in Brockton", this time we speak to Brockton High School Varsity Baseball Coach Dave Fouracre.  We learn a little history of the last 18 seasons, how the coach has tried to inspire players over the years, and the thoughts he has on being the skipper for his final season before retiring as head coach.
